Curriculum vitae:

I was a police officer for 29 years and specialised for most of my service on investigating serious crimes against children and vulnerable adults and all aspects of safeguarding.

My career has included conducting specialist interviews with children and adults with learning disabilities and communication difficulties, leading pro-active paedophile investigations and sex offender management.

I qualified as a Police trainer in 2004 and developed and delivered training to police in all fields of investigation and interviewing. I led the training for Detective Constables which included court room skills and delivered joint training to police and social care for child abuse and vulnerable adult investigations.

My area of expertise is in interviewing vulnerable victims of crime, both child and adult using models of interview including PEACE and ABE and cognitive interview techniques. I also train these specialist areas. I am a trustee for a local charity called Acts Fast which provides trauma support and counselling to non-abusive parents and carers when their child discloses abuse.

2000 Rugby College level 2 certificate in Relate counselling programme. 2005 Qualifications and Curriculum Authority certificate in development and delivery of training. 2005 Health and Safety Executive – First Aid at Work Trainer. 2007 Qualifications and Curriculum Authority level 3 award assessing candidates. 2007 University of Southampton Certificate in Education. 2019 Health and Safety Executive Emergency First Aid at Work Trainer.
